Ghost Recon: Breakpoint Operation Amber Sky Is Going To Be Epic

Ghost Recon- Breakpoint Operation Amber Sky

Last week, Ubisoft accidentally revealed, then officially revealed, Operation Amber Sky for Ghost Recon: Breakpoint. It’s the third live event that the game will have seen, and it’s also a crossover event with none other than Rainbow Six Siege. It looks like three Operators from Siege will be making the transition to Auroa, helping players find the sources of a yellow gas called Amber Ruin. It’s all going to tie neatly in with the Tom Clancy lore, since the Operators moving over are the quarantine specialists that were added with the alien event a couple of years ago. I can’t wait to play this even, I think it’s going to be the best we’ve ever seen in the game.

So as per Ubisoft, there are going to be ten exclusive items to earn with this event. I reckon there will be a battle pass system associated with it that we need to work through, which should make for a nice reason to return to the game. There’s also going to be a chance to play as one of the three Operators that will appear in the game for the short period of time that this event is live, just ten days.

As has been the case with all the previous live events, this one will probably change the face of the game. I think it’s reasonable to anticipate new random events everywhere, as well as a whole new set of faction missions to take on and work through. These will almost certainly be how players are going to interact with the event on a higher level, though I expect there will be some form of smaller in-game event activities dotted around the map.

It will be interesting to see how Siege blends with Breakpoint. These games are very different, so the gameplay needs to somehow resemble them both. I think that having loads of areas that need breaching would be one great way to reference Siege, but there should also be something on the alien event that introduced these characters to us. If there isn’t at least a tiny reference to that Siege event, then there should be one to the upcoming release, Rainbow Six Quarantine.
