Why Tooke Is The Best Character In Hood: Outlaws & Legends

While I’ve been playing Hood: Outlaws & Legends, I’ve found myself gravitating to one character in particular. Tooke. This is the Mystic character. He has a flail that’s basically a weaponised incense burner, a gas bomb that drains your stamina, and can heal his teammates. That’s it. He’s really not that impressive. In fact, he’s labeled as the hardest character to play as, but I think he’s great. There are a few reasons for this, and I’m going to try to contextualise them for you now. If you’re playing this game though, please give him a try in your next match.

First, Tooke is a support character. He’s able to heal up his friends with nothing more than an ability, once it’s charged. This is hugely powerful and can see you turn the tide of any fight. Regardless of whether your enemy has two Johns on the go, you can destroy them by healing your allies through their attacks. Even if they’ve used their abilities too.

Next, Tooke’s smoke bomb is way more powerful than it might first seem. It drains your enemy’s stamina and makes it difficult for them to see. However, it’s the use of this bomb on the winch at the end of a match that’s key. If your enemy has the winch and has two characters extracting the gold, all you need to do is throw this bomb and you’ll stop them from doing it so quickly. Without stamina, the extraction is so painfully slow that it’s far too easy for someone to run in and attack you.

Finally, Tooke is a beast in a fight. His flail deals a lot of damage to enemies. You can take down Robin and Marianne easily in a 1v1 fight. John is the only problem, but if you drop a bomb and make him fight you inside then he doesn’t stand much of a chance. This character has so much diversity that it’s hard to see any of the others as viable once you’ve played as him for a while. Sure, he’s incredibly hard to master, but it’s worth it if you want to be the best support for your team and win in every match.
