Supersonic Acrobatic Rocket-Powered Battle-Cars sequel set for Spring release

Indie developer Psyonix has today unveiled its plans to launch a 2015 follow-up to its hugely popular action-sports title – and perhaps the PS3 game with the best name – Supersonic Acrobatic Rocket-Powered Battle-Cars.

A sequel five years in the making, Rocket League promises to expand on its predecessor’s foundations with improved graphics and physics systems, a new single-player campaign, advanced customization options, a fully-charged multiplayer experience and a brand-new replay mode.

Like the 2008 PlayStation 3 original, the title is a one- to eight-player futuristic action-sports game where players pilot rocket-powered vehicles in an enhanced version of soccer by driving their vehicles into the ball and other players in a variety of arenas.

Dave Hagewood, president of Psyonix, said: “We believe [Rocket League’s] unique mix of stunning physics, crazy aerial action, and compelling multiplayer combat will drive our current fan base – and a whole new generation of players – absolutely wild.”
