It’s Mario time! Nintendo recently unveiled the next mobile game, Super Mario Run, for iOS devices, with an Android version to follow. Allegedly releasing in December, the app will see the world-famous plumber auto-running across 2D platforming levels with the help of the player. The game will be free to download and start, with in-app purchases to extend the content.
Professional analyst Serkan Toto, whom is often quoted by several news sources, believes the app will quickly achieve over one billion downloads. To compare, Pokemon GO currently sits at a little over half that many. Could Mario truly be so popular that an entire 1/7th of the planet will play his game? We’ll know for sure once the app arrives.
