Classic franchises Jet Set Radio, Streets of Rage and Shenmue are amongst those Sega fans would most like to see revived, the company has this week confirmed.
Taking to the stage at Sega Fes 2016 this past weekend in Tokyo, Sega executives Kensaku Nishimura, Yosuke Okunari and Hiroyuki Miyazaki announced the results of its recent fan survey, with RPG Sakura Wars taking a surprise victory.
Those hoping that Sega would act on the results may be disappointed however, as the trio confirmed the poll was created for entertainment purposes only – although Miyazaki accepted there was a slim possibility that the company might be swayed in some way by the outcome.
A total of approximately 16,000 votes were received in the three days the survey was live, with 20 percent of those coming from outside of Japan.
