WWE 2K19 Motion Capture Begins This Weekend

WWE 2K19

Despite not yet officially confirming the title’s existence, 2K Sports are set to begin motion capture work on the upcoming pro wrestling sim WWE 2K19 this weekend.

Independent wrestler Santana Garrett, also known to Impact Wrestling fans as Brittany, took to Twitter earlier this week to confirm that she is set to travel to California on Sunday to “film for a video game”.

Given that the 29-year-old’s mo-cap was used in WWE 2K18 and that 2K Games’ motion capture studio is based in Petaluma, California, it is safe to assume that the game in question is the latest annual iteration of the professional wrestling franchise.

The Orlando, Florida native has also appeared on a number of occasions in the WWE: namely, for its developmental brand NXT, as well as part of the Mae Young Classic women’s tournament. Her most recent appearance for the promotion came back in October, when she took part in a Battle Royal to determine the number one contender for the NXT Women’s Championship.

Garrett’s own independent scene entrance was included in WWE 2K18 as a selectable performance, under the name Shining Star, a play on her Shining Star Press finishing manoeuvre.

With Wrestlemania season now over, an official announcement of the title is expected to follow as we head into the summer months. Based on previous release schedules, WWE 2K19 is likely to release in late October for PS4, Xbox One and PC.
