Xbox Boss Phil Spencer to ‘Represent Gaming’ at E3 2019

Xbox boss Phil Spencer has already confirmed that this year the company is going to be going big at E3 2019. We are not sure what this means but it is possible that we are going to get a couple of games and we might even hear about the upcoming next-generation Xbox that he announced was being developed.

Sony has confirmed that it will not make an appearance this year at E3. Xbox boss Phil Spencer talked about how Microsoft is going to be the only console company at the event and how he sees this as his responsibility to represent gaming. The following is what he had to say regarding the matter:

This is going to be an interesting one. We are the [only] platform-holder that has a live stage show. It’s kind of just us this year. I feel the responsibility of that. I want to represent gaming. I think it’s an important time where the larger community–news [organizations] and other things–are looking at the gaming industry at E3.

Keeping in mind that Sony is not going to be at E3 2019, all the third-party games are going to try to get a slot at the Xbox conference and that could be a nightmare to manage. Microsoft is going to try its best to have a balanced presentation that includes some third-party games and first-party ones as well.

Microsoft also needs the time to talk about the upcoming Xbox as well. While presentation times are not confirmed, I have a feeling that the Microsoft conference is going to be a really long one. Spencer further went on to mention the following:

I think it’s a time where we kind of pop above a lot of the noise that’s out there. The whole team, we’re taking the responsibility of being out there representing gaming and wanting to do a good job of that.

Talking about E3 2019, Bethesda has confirmed that Starfield and The Elder Scrolls VI are not going to be revealed at E3 this year. This might be a bummer for some people but CDPR has confirmed that it has a strong show planned for the event. Last year Cyberpunk 2077 was revealed during the Xbox press conference and there is a chance that we could see something similar this year as well.

Let us know what you think about Sony not coming to E3 2019 and whether or not you are excited about the Xbox conference at the Electronic Entertainment Expo this year.
