Diablo 4 Shown To Activision Employees, Release After 2020

Diablo 4 is a game that fans have been waiting for. While we have heard very little about it, Activision employees in France got to see an early build of the game. French news publication Le Monde published an article about it.

You need to pay to read the entire post but we do have an excerpt from the publication that tells us everything that we need to know. The following is a translation about Diablo 4 that was posted:

What about the future? The Blizzard Entertainment teams have already had the right to a presentation of the highly anticipated Diablo 4 and know that a new Overwatch is in the pipes. But none will come out before 2020, at best, and the employees of Versailles do not know if they will see the color. “Activision Blizzard will make less money, but still make a lot of money,” said a veteran.

Interestingly the post also mentioned Overwatch 2. Overwatch is very popular and has a decent player base. The developers have been able to keep it alive by introducing new events that players can take part in. There is not much that we know about Overwatch 2 but it will be interesting to see how it is going to be different compared to the original game.

The timing of this new information is very interesting indeed. It is possible that these games will release for the PS5 and Xbox Scarlett. Both of the consoles are going to release in 2020, so I would not be surprised if that was indeed the case.

BlizzCon 2018 was a disaster. Fans did not like the Diablo mobile game that Blizzard announced. It is possible that we could hear more about Diablo 4 and Overwatch 2 at BlizzCon 2019. It that is the case then it could make up for what happened last year.

Recently Activision and Bungie separated and Destiny 2 seems to be doing pretty great since then. The game is moving to Steam and will be accessible to more players. Steam has regional pricing and depending on where you live, you could get major discounts on future content.

Let us know what you think about Diablo 4 and Overwatch 2 being in development and which one you are most interested in checking out.
