There are loads of Assassin’s Creed games in the series at this point. Whilst we’re all waiting to get our hands on Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, I think it’s also worth loking back, and picking up as many of the older games as possible. Why? Well to play them all in their next-gen upgraded glory when the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series S and X launch. Just look at how good Assassin’s Creed Unity is looking in this video below.
This is just Assassin’s Creed Unity running on an Xbox Series X. I can’t actually believe how good this game looks, because it looked quite phenomenal on the PlayStation 4 when I played it the first time around. It’s been the benchmark for a number of games ever since. The way that Ubisoft was able to get the game looking this good at that early stage in the console’s life cycle is still astounding.
Nothing in the series is going to look as good as Assassin’s Creed Valhalla. I know that, but I also now know that there are loads of other games in the series that I want to play on the Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5. Games like Assassin’s Creed Syndicate, Assassin’s Creed 4 Black Flag, Assassin’s Creed Origins, and of course Assassin’s Creed Odyssey. Each of these games looked incredible when I first played them, but I want to see how fantastic they can really look now.
Particularly with the Xbox Series X, I think you’ll be able to play the entire series through on a modern machine. This means that all of the upgrades that the consoel can possibly bestow will be applied even to the likes of the original Assassin’s Creed.
With Game Pass, and deep sales, now is the perfect time to look to pick these games up. Black Friday isn’t too far away either, and I’m sure that there will be plenty of sales on the Assassin’s Creed series at that point as well. This is a franchise that deserves to be played through from start to finish, and with these next-gen consoles doing what they do, there has never been a better time to build up that library.
