Rainbow Six Siege is coming to Game Pass, and I can’t wait. This is a game that I play quite a lot in my spare time, and being able to access it on a mobile device is going to be incredible for several reasons. More than anything, though, I’m just happy that I get a chance to play the game on Xbox without having to buy it outright for a second time. I play on PlayStation 4, but I’ll be making use of the cross-progression functionality to carry across everything I’ve earned in the game so far. On top of that, though I’ll soon be able to play this game on a tiny little handheld device. That is crazy to me, yet it’s actually about to happen.
The beauty of Rainbow Six Siege is that it has a constant influx of fresh content. It might not seem like a lot when you’re into the game, but there are events every season and new Operators planned for each year. For a game, this old to still be getting this many updates is almost unheard of. Some developers give up on their games and launch a new version for fresh sales, but Ubisoft is saving Rainbow Six Siege from dying. Earlier this year, we heard that the game would be on next-gen consoles and that progress will also carry over there. Combined with the ability to play on mobile devices, it’s an unbeatable multiplayer experience.
I love how intense every match can be in Rainbow Six Siege, but it’s impossible to play it while you’re sat chilling out on a sofa downstairs. If there’s anything else going on, you’re guaranteed to lose. The difference now is that you can pick the game up on a smaller device and keep playing it whilst everything else goes on around you. In a game like this, when progress needs to be earned to make the most of the cosmetics, you can get hold of, particularly in challenges, being able to play on-the-go is essential. Finally, the game will be at the point that it’s needed to be for years now.
