Assassin’s Creed Valhalla is getting a big new update this month, the River Raid Update. I’ve been looking forward to this update for ages because I love raiding in this game. There’s something about it that’s both so relaxing, and so engaging all at once. It’s the definitive Valhalla experience. This update will add more places to raid, and they’ll be open for replayable raids as well, meaning you can simply raid to your heart’s content. However, I think there are some things that you need to do in order to prepare for this update.
The first thing I think that has to be done is complete all of the raids on the game’s map. There aren’t that many, and you should really have exhausted all the base game raid content before you look at any sort of replayable raids. I think it’s only fair to the game that you do this. You’ll also earn a lot of experience, unlock more of the map, and have a lot of fun while you’re doing it. It also leads into my second point.
I also think that before the update hits, you need to upgrade your settlement to the maximum level. This requires you to build every building. I’m not saying that you need to upgrade them all, but I do feel like the update will add a lot more for us to build. If you haven’t already taken advantage of what’s there, then you really should have. If you have, maybe consider upgrading every building as well. You get the resources to do this from raiding, so why not just try it?
Finally, and this is a big ask, I think we all need to finish the main story. I know that it’s colossal, but I think it’s going to make the River Raid Update even more enjoyable. This is endgame content that you should be playing around with once you’ve finished the story and want something else to do. There’s no shame in paying it too early, but I think you’ll miss out on a good chunk of the story if you take too long raiding to get around to completing it.
