Wrath of the Druids is the DLC set for an early 2021 spring release for Assassin’s Creed Valhalla. To me, this says that the DLC will be launching very soon, and that we’ll be exploring it as part of Season 2 Ostara. While the DLC sounds like it’ll be similar to River Raids, I actually think it’ll be a lot larger. This DLC will add an entirely new land to explore, and a load of new systems as well. It’s going to be a significant new piece of content, extending play time in the game dramatically.
Wrath of the Druids takes players to Ireland. This is where there are a lot of new resources for the Vikings to pillage, as well as some new trading partners to meet and make. However, these will play a small part in what will ultimately make up a big. part of the game’s second season. Within Ireland, we have a cult known as the Childen of Danu. These guys are all over the place, and Ubisoft has explained that part of the DLC is hunting them down and killing them.
The developer has also added that this DLC will add new combat experiences. It’ll allow us to dual wield a lot more against new types of enemies. So far, from what we’ve been told, Ireland will have the largest range of enemies in the game. It seems like the smaller land mass opened up more development time for enemy types. I think that these enemies will be themed around the Cult of Danu, and the members we need to hunt and kill.
It seems like March is going to be absolutely jammed with new content for Assassin’s Creed Valhalla. There’s very little reason to be avoiding the game at this point. River Raids were one thing, but now the game is about to get even bigger. There’s even the small matter of what new game mode these combat experiences will play into. I’m not sure what it could be, but I reckon it might have something to do with fighting to the death in a type of arena. This might be tied to Ireland in some way, or it could be an evolution of other features already in the game. Hopefully, we find out soon.
