You Still Have Time To Finish The Witcher 3 Wild Hunt On Last-Gen Consoles Before The Next-Gen Version Launches

Developer CD Projekt Red has announced that The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt won’t release for PS5 and Xbox Series X until the second half of 2021. This means that no one can get their hands on a much better-looking version of the game, at least on consoles, for at least three months. However, there is an upside to this news. Now you can jump into the game on last-gen consoles and finally finish it before doing it all over again on current-gen consoles. This will still apply to many people who never picked the game up when it first launched.

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is the RPG that redefined what RPGs are. The game absolutely smashed pretty much every trope that the genre has faced since it was established. It turned everything on its head and made a hardcore tactical game into something the mainstream public could enjoy. It’s also the crowning jewel of The Witcher series and is going to be very hard for CD Projekt Red to top whenever they release the next game in the franchise.

Despite being so incredible, not everyone has played this game. Even those who have may not have finished it. I count myself in that number, having played for about ten hours before giving up. I didn’t have the time when it first launched, and I’ve never gone back to pick it up. I think that the type of RPG it was also put me off a little. I found it hard to get into because it’s so different to the established norm. However, having played three Assassin’s Creed games that all resemble the game, I can safely say that I’m more than ready now.

This is the crux of why I think you should all give this game a second chance. There’s nothing wrong with it, it was just ahead of its time. The game held every mechanic and system you can see thriving in modern-day RPGs.  There’s very little reason to pass this opportunity by. If you happen to see it on sale, you’re almost obliged to pick it up and experience it. Don’t forget about the DLC too.
