April’s PlayStation Plus Games Are Exceptional

This month, we’ve got an absolute belter of an offering from PlayStation Plus. There are three incredible games for both PS4 and PS5. Each one is a treat in itself, with one of them getting regular content updates even now. However, even if that wasn’t the case, these games are fantastic. They speak to all PlayStation fans on a deeper level, and offer something fun for those who can’t afford a brand new release at the moment to enjoy. Literally, all subscribers should be picking these up, there’s no reason not to.

Zombie Army 4: Dead War

I could go on and on about this game. It’s Rebellion’s fourth title in what started as a zombie spin-off game for their mainline Sniper Elite franchise. This game is the first one that’s really come into its own, with all kinds of undead madness happening around Europe. You get to face off against an undead Hitler, and there are even undead zeppelins floating around to contend with. It’s a great four-player co-op game for those who enjoy shooting zombies with mates. Otherwise, it’s great on your own.

Days Gone

Days Gone is a beautiful look at a zombie apocalypse that wasn’t quite fueled by zombies. Instead, a disease has ravaged the US, and now it’s impossible to go anywhere without being assaulted by some sort of mutated creature. The story and characters in this game will either resonate with you, or you’ll hate the whole thing. It’s very much a Marmite game, but one that’s worth adding to your library all the same. As a PS4 exclusive, you know it’s got to at least look good, and that it does.

Oddworld: Soulstorm

The latest entry in the Oddworld series is actually a continuation of Abe’s story from the most famous game, Abe’s Oddysey. It shows how he and his people escaped and thrived after the initial factory escape that the first game showed us. It’s a true return to that style and era of gameplay, and it’s well worth a look if you enjoyed it. At the very least, it’s worth a try to see an updated version of that game in the visuals department.
