What I Want To See From Today’s State Of Play Event

Today, Sony is set to hold a State of Play event. It was revealed alongside a gorgeous new trailer for Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart earlier in the week. As a huge Ratchet and Clank fan, I want to see the 15 minutes of gameplay for this new game. However, I’m also pretty excited to be getting another big Sony event. The PS5 has very few exclusives, and I want to know what’s coming. I want Sony to wow me with some awesome upcoming projects, but right now I just feel underwhelmed. Let’s get some decent details of all the big games coming in the next few months so I can plan out how I’m going to get the time to play them.

The first thing I obviously want to see is as many details on Ratchet and Clank: Rift apart as humanly possible. This game looks phenomenal, exactly what the fan base wants, and I can’t wait to see how the series has evolved as it crosses into yet another generation of PlayStation. In case you didn’t know, these games have been around since the PS2 era, spanning every PlayStation console to date apart from the PS5. Thankfully, that changes this year for the better.

the next thing I’d love to see some more of is Returnal. The game might be out tomorrow, but it’s still not in my hands just yet. It’s the next big PS5 exclusive, and I really desperately want to play around with it. There’s so much potential in the game to be the next big hitter that PlayStation fans replay over and over again. In a weird way it’s very much like Dark Souls and Bloodborne but in its own unique way. I don’t mean because of the roguelike elements, but more because it’s got a dense world full of stories to explore. The community around this game is going to be intense, and I’m very much here for it.

Finally, I want to see some indie games that are coming to PS5. There don’t seem to be enough on the console, and Sony needs to give more independent developers a chance so that they can enhance the ecosystem once again.
