Don’t Forget To Play Destiny 2’s Bungie 30th Expansion Pack Today

There’s a new expansion in Destiny 2 today. The Bungie 30th Anniversary Pack has been the subject of much controversy in the lead up to launch because it locks a couple of dungeons behind a paywall. Regardless of how you feel about it, it’s out today, meaning you’ve got a load of new Destiny 2 content to play through. It’s going to be pretty damn great to explore something new in the game again, and this is stuff that’s themed around Bungie’s history, so you know it’s going to be pretty damn good. Well, it’s good if you’re a fan of Bungie as a developer and its history.

I’m not 100% sure how the pack will work because I’ve been out of the loop on Destiny 2 for a little while. I had to take a break because it all got too much. However, I understand that it’s got a new dungeon that’s basically inspired by the loot caves of the original game. It’s filled with treasure to explore, but you’ll have to go in and find it all for yourself. I don’t quite understand how this will work, but I think it will either be randomized, or it’ll all be linked to the paths you take.

We’ve seen something like this in Destiny 2 before. There was a sort of dungeon that was a dream world. You walked through paths and could eventually find the grave of Saint-14, trapped somewhere in time. It foreshadowed the expansions for Destiny 2 in the future, and I thought that was pretty cool. You could also get some decent rewards from it, but it wasn’t exactly a thrilling reason to play. However, I think that if Bungie tries hard enough to give players something new with this expansion, it’ll give players a really great reason to return to the game ahead of the next big expansion.

I’m quietly excited for this one. It’s basically a big reward for any player that’s been a part of Destiny 2 over the years. There are loads of rewards to claim here, but I think it’ll ultimately become something of a controversy for players because of the way the content is locked behind a paywall.
