Dying Light 2 was developed by Techland and first came out on 4th February 2022. It is an action role-playing title set in a post-apocalyptic zombie infested world. You play as protagonist Aidan Caldwell as his searches for his lost sister called Mia. In the game, there is both a single and multiplayer mode. The multiplayer mode allows you to take on difficult missions with friends. This is an very useful feature, especially for some of the harder fights. Given that dying light 2 is a multiplayer title, many players have wondered whether it supports cross-play. In this article, I will answer exactly that question.
So, does Does Dying Light 2 Support Cross-Play?
No, Dying Light 2 unfortunately lacks a cross-play mode. Players of the game will only be able to play with those on the same platform. Techland have not made any official announcements concerning the addition of cross-play either.
Why isn’t there support for Cross-Play?
There are multiple reasons why cross-play hasn’t been implemented. The biggest one is simply due to system limitations. The game is available on multiple different platforms. These platforms have different system limitations and different control schemes. Coordinating all of these platforms may have proven difficult for the developers. The original Dying Light also lacked cross-play, likely for similar reasons.
Will there be cross-play in the future?
At the moment, it seems unlikely that cross-play will be added. Dying Light 2 has been out for over one year now. If it was going to be implemented, we probably would have heard about at this point in time. As a result, those wanting to play with friends will need to make sure that they are on the same platform. At launch, Techland announced at least 5 years worth of post-launch content for Dying Light 2. Whether cross-play will be included in those plans remains to be seen. All we can do at the moment is to keep waiting and holding out hope for any future announcements.
