When Will State of Decay 3 Release?

State of Decay 3 is an upcoming survival game. It is being developed by Undead Labs and will be published by Xbox Game Studios. The second game in the series, State of Decay 2 first launched in 2018. By August 2021, it had exceeded 10 million players. As a result, its inevitable sequel is very highly anticipated. The rumours on its release are circulating more than ever. In this article, I will be addressing those rumours while outlining when State of Decay 3 will most likely release.

State of Decay 3 Release Date Rumours

State of Decay 3 was first announced back in July 2020. Since then however, the rumours had been very scarce regarding its release date. The release trailer doesn’t reveal too much about the game other than that it is definitely in development.

Thankfully, a new leak has now provided a possible launch window for the upcoming game. The leak in question originates from the Art Station profile of Nora Shramek, who is the lighting lead at Undead Labs.

The profile indicated a release date of 2027. If true, fans still have a bit of time to wait until the release of State of Decay 3. This release date would suggest that the game is far from finished.

It is lastly worth mentioning that this potential release date has now been deleted from their profile. Whether 2027 is an accurate release window is impossible to say at this point in time. It would be usual for a game to release 7 years after it was first announced. Either the real release will be sooner, or it is accurate and production has been slower than first expected.

Regardless, it is important to take the latest leak with a pinch of salt. All this is very much speculative in the absence of an official announcement.

This leak is the only information we have as to a possible release date for State of Decay 3. 2027 is still 4 years from now, but there are many Xbox first-party title to look forward to in the meantime. This includes Fable, Avowed, Everwild and many more.

In addition, to first-party titles, there are also many upcoming third-party multi-platformers. One of these is rumoured to be Red Dead Redemption 3. For all the latest info on that game, feel free to check out this article here.
