The Merlin Trials in Hogwarts Legacy are small spell challenges that you will find throughout the game. These puzzles are important since they reward you with extra gear space once you have completed them. This means that you can carry more gear that you can equip or sell. How To Unlock Merlin Trials In Hogwarts Legacy
You will first unlock the Merlin Trials during the mission called Trials of Merlin after you meet Natty near Lower Hogsfield. You will go through a tutorial that explains the basics of the challenge and how you can solve the puzzle. There are a lot of different types of Merlin Trials and each one requires a specific spell to solve. So while the basics are the same, they are unique in their own way.
There are plenty of Merlin Trials in Hogwarts Legacy and you can easily find them on the map. Look for the white feather symbol and you can head to one. You will need to bring Mallowseet offerings if you want to take on these challenges one after the other. I have covered how you can get some below.
Hogwarts Legacy: Merlin Trials Solutions
| Merlin Trial | Required Spell | Details |
| Lighting Torches | Incendio or Confringo | You need to light the torches around the trial using spells Incendio or Confringo. Once you light one, it will start sinking into the ground. You need to light up all of them before they sink. |
| Smashing Orbs | Accio | Destroy orbs on top of the pillars using Accio. |
| Standing Stones | None | Climb into the end of the nearby stones and traverse across without hitting the ground. Get to the other end to complete the challenge. |
| Symbol Cubes | Flipendo | Use Flipendo on the cubes to line up each side of the plinth that the cube rests on. Typically the cubes have arrows that will help you. |
| Gathering Moths | Lumos | Use Lumos to attract moths and bring them back to each of the cubes to light them up. |
| Stone Spheres | Accio | Use Accio to transfer sets of small stone balls into the plates with ball-shaped openings. |
| Exploding Stones | Confrigno | Use Confrigno to blow up the cracked green rocks. |
| Repairing Statues | Reparo | Use Reparo to fix the statues |
| Magic Football | Accio, Levioso, Depulso, Wingardium Leviosa | Use spells to get the ball into the nearby goal. |
How To Get Mallowsweet In Hogwarts Legacy
You can buy Mallowsweet from the Magic Neep in Hogsmeade. We recommend buying the seeds and growing them in the Greenhouse planter early on. You can also wait until you unlock the Room of Requirement to start a Mallowsweet farm with infinite plant tables. You get five every time you harvest Mallowsweet from a plant table in the Room of Requirement.
