Diablo 4 had a rough launch and a lackluster first season but the developers have learned from their mistakes and have been hard at work making the game better over the months since launch. Season 2 of D4 was well received and there is more to come in Diablo 4 season 3, including the Gauntlet and Hardcore Leaderboard. In this Diablo 4 guide, I go over what you need to know about the Hardcore Leaderboard.
What You Need To Know About The Diablo 4 Hardcore Leaderboard
Once players unlock World Tier 4, players will have access to the new dungeon called The Gauntlet. This is a fixed dungeon that players will complete and run. Players will be competing with one another to see who can complete the dungeon faster or score higher. The dungeon is the same for everyone for fairness. Instead of regular loot, enemies, and chests in The Gauntlet will drop “Proofs of Might”, which you will need for the final Weekly Leaderboard position and rewards.
The best scores will be shown on the leaderboard. The top 1000 players will be displayed on the Diablo 4 leaderboard and there will be filters for classes, solo, 2-player parties, 3-player parties, 4-player parties, hardcore mode, and non-hardcore mode. The top 1000 players mentioned on the leaderboard will have the “Seal of the Worthy” but the leaderboard will reset every week when the dungeon resets.
Depending on the player’s position on the leaderboard, seals such as Seal of the Blooded, Seal of the Steadfast, Seal of the Iron-Willed, and Seal of the Worthy can be earned. These will be displayed on the players’ profile and in-game.
Furthermore, there will be a permanent leaderboard known as the Hall of the Ancients, that mentions the top 10 players for each week in every Season forever.
Players will be rewarded for competing and gaining ranks on the leaderboards. Blizzard has confirmed that The Gauntlet Dungeon and Weekly Leaderboard will be available when Diablo 4 Season 3 launches (January 23, 2024).
What Is The Gauntlet?
The Gauntlet is a new end-game activity in the form of a fixed dungeon. You will need to reach World Tier 4 to unlock it. Since players will be competing for a position on the leaderboard while running The Gauntlet, it is fixed and does not change to keep things fair and so that everyone has a level playing field.
This is a weekly dungeon so The Gauntlet will change every week and the corresponding weekly leaderboard will reset as well. The enemies inside The Gauntlet will be max level and are designed to test your skills. So while you do not need to be level 100 to take part in the activity, you are advised to be level 100 for the best chance of survival.
