FC 24 Clubs Blighted By Playoffs Glitch Where Wins Don’t Count

FC 24 Clubs

Update (February 4th): An EA community manager has commented on the issue, which still does not appear to have been resolved: “This problem where Club matches do not count has been reported to the teams. We are currently working on a fix.”

Although FUT remains the jewel in FC 24’s crown, the former FIFA franchise has a not-insignificant following for its Clubs online multiplayer mode. However, with the latest Clubs league season reaching its zenith – the playoffs – this week, a widespread glitch has wreaked havoc on players’ fortunes.

The restructuring of FC 24‘s Pro Clubs seasons was a welcome change for fans of the series’ co-operative mode, with relegation giving way to end-of-season playoffs. For newcomers, playoffs are a time-limited series of games (generally 15), each of which must have a winner. The resulting win-loss record provides each club with its end-of-season rewards – mostly ‘fans’, which are essentially your team’s XP and help you unlock progressive prizes such as better AI teammates and new stadiums.

Naturally, with only 15 matches to play over the course of a week, every playoffs game matters in Clubs. With this format, EA have created one of the most tense – and ultimately rewarding – game mechanics the series has seen in years. At least, that’s when everything works as it should…

FC 24 Clubs Playoffs Wins Not Counting

FC 24 Clubs Glitch

Since Monday (January 29), players have reported that their playoff wins haven’t counted on their record, with an error message appearing after the completion of each match. This has understandably infuriated many, particularly as the results seem to be counted on the club’s game history but not towards their playoffs record. This was originally occurring intermittently, but as of today (February 1), the issue seems to have intensified, with almost every post-game throwing up the error.

Reddit, social media and EA support forums have been flooded with unhappy Clubs players reporting the issue. But, as of the time of posting, an end doesn’t appear to be in sight as the latest Clubs season wraps up its final hours.

What Have EA Said About the Clubs Glitch?

For their part, EA have not yet officially commented on the glitch, despite it clearly being a global issue. When contacting support earlier, Power Up Gaming staff members were provided with generic advice relating to the quality of their internet connection.

While some players have posited that EA may retrospectively add Clubs results to their playoffs record, previous form would suggest that is on the optimistic to unrealistic side.

Regardless, the former FIFA publisher must take these complaints seriously if the new Pro Clubs format is to be deemed a success. We’ll keep you posted on any official word, but in the meantime, check out FC 24’s highest rated players to try out with a ‘real’ team while you’re waiting for a resolution to the current Clubs woes.
