Heardle 90s

Heardle 90s takes you back to the era alternative music and irreverent popular culture broke through the mainstream – in the form of a musical trivia game!

The browser title has become one of the most popular, and downright addictive, daily puzzle games of the past year. Ready to jump right in? Click the Play button above.

Heardle 90s is an off-shoot of the shortlived and one-time Spotify-owned Heardle – itself a spinoff of the Wordle phenomenon. It challenges players with the ostensibly simple task of ‘naming that tune’. The catch? You only get to hear a very small snippet from the intro of the track in question. Still sounds pretty simple, right? You’d be surprised.

You have a maximum of six guesses to correctly identify the popular song, which in this case will – naturally – be from the 1990s. The track could be blindingly obvious, or a lot more obscure. Start typing the artist or track name to help narrow down your selection. If you’re struggling, click Skip, which lets you listen to an additional second of the intro, but removes a point from your overall score.

Similarly to other daily puzzle games, Heardle 90s allows you to track your streak and share your score with friends.
