Unending Torment is a multi-stage Horde quest chain in World of Warcraft: Forever, which begins inside the Ruins of Lordaeron when you loot the Abominable Head from The Baron. This guide will provide you with tips and tricks on how to complete the Unending Torment full quest chain in the game.
Start in Ruins of Lordaeron & Place the Head
This entire quest chain is available from character level 15, and involves several stages that span throughout the entire Undercity. Here’s what it takes:
| Objectives | Actions |
|---|---|
| Deliver the Abominable Head | Give it to Master Apothecary Faranell. |
| Bring the Head of the Baron to Othmar | Place it beside Othmar’s hanging body, but do not attach it. |
| Report Your Findings | Return to Faranell and choose a reward. |
| Collect Three Reagents | Toxic Skullcap, Blisterweed, and Essence of Agony. |
| Use the Hissing Serum | Apply it at the large pink worm above Othmar, then report back again. |
You can start the quest by entering the Ruins of Lordaeron dungeon at the Tirisfal Glades (71.6, 11.4). Then, follow these steps:
- Turn right from the entrance and follow the path until you reach The Baron, the Abomination boss.
- Kill The Baron and loot the Abominable Head that he drops.
- Right-click the Abominable Head in your inventory to accept the “Unending Torment” quest chain.
- Travel to Undercity and find Master Apothecary Faranell in the Apothecarium, at coordinates 48.6, 69.6.
- Turn in the Abominable Head for a reward of 3,450 XP.
Faranell will give you the Head of the Baron back, so you could take it to Othmar’s hanging body in the next room, which is located to the north of Faranell’s location, at coordinates 46.0, 62.1. Here’s what you need to do:
- Interact with the Othmar’s hanging body and simply place the head beside it.
- The quest log demands that you place it next to the body without attaching it.
- Once that’s done, accept the next quest in the chain at the Othmar’s body.
Gather All the Ingredients & Administer the Serum
Return to Master Apothecary Faranell and report about your quest. As a result, you can choose one of three equipment rewards: Slain Baron’s Signet (ring for tanks looking to boost health), Grave Shroud (back cloak for tanks needing extra armor and health), or Monstrous Cleaver (two-handed sword for paladins and warriors).
After choosing your reward, Faranell will ask you to collect three ingredients in Undercity. Here’s how to find them all:
| Ingredients | How to get | Locations |
|---|---|---|
| Toxic Skullcap | Buy from Tawny Grisette | Trade Quarter: She patrols the inner circle on the upper level near the flight point. |
| Blisterweed | Loot from the herb container | Behind Katrina Alliestar, near the Herbalism trainers on the left in a barrel, at coordinates 54.6, 49.6. |
| Essence of Agony | Buy from Ezekiel Graves | Rogues’ Quarter poison vendor at coordinates 75.6, 51.4. |
Once you collect all three items and return them to Faranell, he will reward you with 13 silver. Finally, you can accept the last quest and receive the Hissing Serum for the following steps:
- Go upstairs from Faranell’s area to the green ooze pool with pipes and the wooden walkway, which is located directly above the Othmar’s body.
- Stand beside the large pink worm above Othmar’s body.
- Use the Hissing Serum from your inventory.
- Return to Master Apothecary Faranell to complete the chain.
