Helldivers 2 has been an incredible journey that many cannot deny. After an explosive launch, the game’s community established itself as united. From standing up to Sony on frowned-upon practices to unnecessary nerfs to weapons and gear. Many players are still enjoying the game. However, as some return, even to experience the Escalation of Freedom update, they are met with a peculiar message.

Booting up the game gives an error saying that servers are at capacity, but what exactly does that mean, and how do you fix it? Below, we have the details on the servers at capacity issue.

What is the Servers at Capacity Issue in Helldivers 2?

The servers at capacity issue is an error that players receive when trying to log in to Helldivers 2 from the main menu. Upon attempting to load into the game, players are met with the error phrase “login limit reached.” This error signifies that the game’s servers are at total capacity. Because of this, no new players can log into Helldivers 2. It is a tedious issue. However, Arrowhead Game Studios is working on a fix by raising the server limits. Therefore, by doing this, it allows more players to be in the game at the same time.

The same situation occurred for Helldivers 2 just after its release in February 2024. As the game began to garner more hype, more players tried to log in to play. Because of this, servers were overloaded, leading to the game going offline for a short period.

Can the Servers at Capacity Issue Be Fixed in Helldivers 2?

Unfortunately, the servers-at-capacity issue cannot be truly fixed. The remedy lies in Arrowhead Game Studios’ hands. The team must improve the game’s server quality and increase the amount of server space. The only solution players can do as a workaround is to close the application and reopen it, trying to log in again. Sometimes, the action can refresh the server capacity and finally allow players to get their free spot in the game. However, this is not a guarantee that it will work and is up to the player’s discretion if they choose to do it.

This is all players can do to deal with the Servers at Capacity issue, as it is primarily a developer-side problem. Once the servers are worked on, players will likely see the issue pop up less and less. Once corrected, more players can get back on the frontlines and help defend Super Earth against the Terminid and Automaton forces that threaten it.
