However, knowing the exact details is something that can help you more in preparing to get the right ghost. Therefore, we have this guide to help you out. The details below outline what the Deja Vu challenge entails in Phasmophobia. And what you need to do to complete it.

What is Deja Vu in Phasmophobia?

Deja Vu is a weekly challenge for players to partake in for Phasmophobia. It is themed around the old style of the game when mechanics were different. As with other weekly challenges, this mode has preset parameters that players must adhere to. Difficulty is just one of them. The modifiers for this particular challenge are:

  • Fuse Box: Must be turned on, and the location is not visible on the map.
  • Starting Sanity: 100
  • Sanity Pill Restoration: 30%
  • Sanity Drain Speed: 200%
  • Sanity Screen: Yes
  • Player Speed: 100%
  • Sprinting: Off
  • Ghost Speed: 75%
  • Roaming Frequency: Medium
  • Favorite Room Change: No
  • Grace Period: 4 seconds.
  • Hiding Places: None
  • Cursed Items Available: Ouija Board
  • Evidence: 3

When it comes to equipment, this is everything that players have at their disposal in the van:

  • Tier 1: Flashlight, Head Gear, Parabolic Microphone, Motion Sensor, Salt, Sound Sensor, Thermometer, Tripod, UV Light, and Video Camera.
  • Tier 2: Crucifix, EMF Reader, Ghost Writing Book, Igniter, Incense, Photo Camera, Sanity Medication, Spirit Box, and UV Light.

Players should take note that they only have two Salt and two Igniters as part of their inventory. So, make sure to use these cautiously while trying to identify the ghost type. Furthermore, the DOTS Projector is also missing from the lineup.

How to Complete Deja Vu in Phasmophobia

To complete Deja Vu, players need to correctly identify the ghost three times. Furthermore, it has to be on the challenge mode, and the location must be 6 Tanglewood Drive. As with other challenges, you are free to make mistakes and fail the challenge. You can just load right back in and attempt again. The first thing to do, though, when loading in is to get the power on. The Fuse Box on Tanglewood is located in two locations: the garage, on your left as you walk in. And right on the wall in front of you in the basement. From here, look for cold breath to find your ghost room.

Next, place down a Crucifix to ensure you are safe from a hunt. It’s best to have at least one other person so you can bring more items in at once. However, most Tier 2 tools are more effective to use. So be sure to take the EMF Reader, Ghost Writing, Spirit Box, and UV Light into the ghost room.

What makes this challenge easier is that the ghost leaves all three evidence. So you can easily narrow down the culprit. Furthermore, it is slower than the players. So, if you are worried about a hunt, bring an Igniter and Incense. That way, if the ghost is chasing you, you can slow it down more with the Incense.

Deja Vu Rewards in Phasmophobia

Completing the Deja Vu challenge mode for the week gives you both 5,000 XP and $5,000 for you to use. So, if you need to level up and acquire new items, you are in luck. Furthermore, you need money to purchase the tools, so it’s a good influx of cash to get. Because some items can cost between $3,000 – $10,000 to upgrade, getting this challenge done is paramount. Plus, it’s good to teach you more about the ghosts in the game. Whether it is their behaviour or the types of evidence they leave.

With all of this in mind, you now have the means to complete the Deja Vu challenge in Phasmophobia. The game is currently celebrating its 5th anniversary, and in celebration, it’s offering double XP for all activities this week. It’s the perfect time to jump back in and enjoy all that Phasmophobia has to offer.
