The Forge Progression Guide: How to Level Up Fast

The Forge official artwork

Mining in dangerous areas and killing monsters is how you generally progress in The Forge. This guide will provide you with tips and tricks on how to achieve progression in this Roblox game as fast as possible by utilizing the simple loop of mining, forging, selling, questing, and upgrading.

Island 1: Stonewake’s Cross (Levels 1-10)

Sensei Moro

As a first step, you will want to do the tutorial with Sensei Moro at the main forge located next to spawn at the big furnace. He will guide you on how to mine basic ores like pebbles and rocks, and create a basic Iron Pickaxe that you will use throughout your time mining and fighting here. After completing the tutorial, talk to Wizard to reroll your race which provides permanent passive stats. The recommended races are Angel, Golem, Dragonborn, and Minotaur.

Once you’ve chosen your race, it’s time to make some quick money by mining resources. Here’s how you can do this in the fastest possible way:

  1. Equip your Iron Pickaxe and enter the Stonewake Mine.
  2. Mine shallow ores like stone, coal, and iron.
  3. Use these ores to forge gear at the anvil near Sensei Moro.
  4. Note that the more ores you add, the bigger weapons you get, so aim for 80-100% quality.
  5. When forging, fill up the bar and keep the yellow bar centered while pouring, but don’t overflow.

Purchase common forged weapons from Wo and continue repeating the cycle until you acquire a rare forged weapon. In addition, it is possible to upgrade your pickaxe at the Miner Fred shop for $3,333. Once you have your first rare forged weapon along with an upgraded pickaxe, it is time to begin your first quests, including:

  • Talk to Umut the Brave if you want to fight zombies.
  • Speak to Nord for extra mining.

Don’t forget to regularly claim your Index rewards in the Backpack menu for free XP and money. As soon as you achieve level 10, you can teleport to the second island.

Island 2: Forgotten Kingdom (Levels 10-30)

Captain Rowan and Walter

Once you make $10,000, you can buy a Cobalt Pickaxe for deeper mining. Then, you can unlock a portal after talking to the Wizard NPC on the hill near Sensei after you reach level 10. Use it to teleport to the Forgotten Kingdom with harder enemies and better ores. Start by entering the Ruined Cave at the Volcano, where you can mine basalt, mythril, and platinum. Watch out for zombies in the cave, and once you have $67,500, you can purchase the Mythril Pickaxe, which is able to break volcanic rock for such valuable ores as Demoite and Darkryte.

To be able to complete the quests in this area, you must forge at least one colossal sword or a great axe, as well as some heavy armor. Once you have it, you can speak to the following NPCs to start questing and earning XP:

  • Captain Rowan and Walter.
  • Monkey NPC on top of the island for mining 30 Bananaite.
  • Goblin King for late game rewards.

Don’t forget to also buy some runes for both your pickaxe and weapon. Use Essence from kills to level up your equipment. Install Luck and Mine Power runes on your pickaxe. For your weapon, equip the Damage and Burn runes. When you’re installing runes, ensure that they will synergize with your chosen race.

Late Game Secrets and Infinite Farms

Bard's Guitar

To be able to quickly mine lots of ore, you can accept the Bard’s quest to earn $125,000 for the Arcane Pickaxe. Here’s what you need to do:

  1. Speak to Bard at the campfire, who will ask you to bring him back his guitar.
  2. Go to the Stonewake Mine, which is located to the left near Umut, and pick up a guitar from the bushes.
  3. Return it to Bard, and he will reward you with the Unknown Key.
  4. Go to the eastern gate on the first island and use the key to unlock the cave.
  5. Buy Arcane Pickaxe (115 Power, +50% Luck, +10% Speed, 3 Runes) for $125,000, which is the best pickaxe in the game.

Also, look out for the lucky blocks under houses to get even more rewards. But focus mainly on collecting Essence and mining ores for Index rewards that can yield infinite rewards by simply looping quests.
