Payphone Hits are one of many activities that players can complete in GTA Online. Quite literally, having players go up to the various payphones in the map to take down designated targets. It gives us in Los Santos the feeling of being a hitman. And in turn, giving me and many others the opportunity to take a break from expanding our enterprises. But when you boot up the game, especially if you’re a new player, it’s not that simple to find them. Additionally, with the weekly updates, sometimes, there are boosts to the Payphone Hits that can make the activity worthwhile. I don’t want you to have to drive around Los Santos thinking they don’t exist. Instead, I help you figure out how to do them in the game.
How to Do Payphone Hits in GTA Online
Players go up to a randomly activated payphone around the map and interact with it. Upon doing so, they will initiate a Payphone Hit. Players need to note that this only needs to be done once. However, they fulfill a couple of prerequisites before they can start undertaking the mission activity. They are as follows:
- Purchase or own an Agency property.
- Next, as the Leader, do three Security Contracts.
- Once you do these three, head back into Free Roam.
- Once a payphone begins to ring, head over to it and interact with it to do the Payphone Hit.
Unfortunately, all of these need to be met so that players can start doing the activity. So if you have to fork out the money for an Agency property first. That way, you can host the Security Contracts as a Leader. Once this is all done, you will get your first Payphone Hit randomly. After completing it, you can proceed to call Franklin from your phone and request to do one. There is a cooldown of 10 minutes for them, though. So if you are looking to maximize money, do other activities to pass the time.
Payphone Hits Payouts in GTA Online
The starting base payout as a Leader for doing a Payphone Hit is GTA$15,000, with it rising to GTA$30,000 if the mission criteria are met. When it comes to being an Associate, the payouts are slightly lower at GTA$10,000 for base pay and GTA$15,000 for meeting all the requirements.
When it comes to completing the requirements, they are presented to players when the hit starts. Furthermore, they are random each time to change things up. So to make the most money, try to keep these additional requirements in your mind as you head to your target. You can initiate them by yourself or with others. The caveat being that by doing it with more players, more of the missions open up for you to do.
Overall, the Payphone Hits are the greatest payout in the game. However, they are quick ways for players to make some cash. Plus, if you have extra friends with you, it can be done faster to ensure the time is worth the pay. With more practice on doing them, it will get to the point where they won’t even see you coming.
