Insider Claims New Smash Bros. “in a year or two” and the Next Zelda Game “in 2027”

YouTube content creator and podcaster Kiwi Talkz claims a new Metroid, Super Smash Bros., and Zelda game are all in the works.

In a Twitter post uploaded Sunday, Reece “Kiwi Talkz” Reilly said that four of his favorite game franchises “have stuff coming either soon or in a year or two.” The post then specifically mentions the upcoming Grand Theft Auto 6, already confirmed for release this November, as well as a number of unconfirmed Nintendo projects: a new Metroid game “on the near horizon”, Super Smash Bros. “in the next year”, and another Zelda title “in 2027”.

In a later tweet, Reilly clarifies that he is not saying these are necessarily new titles: “It could be new, it could be a spinoff, it could be a remaster, it could be something on NSO.” The posts have sparked speculation in community forums, linking Reilly’s claim to previous rumours regarding the mentioned franchises, including a long-awaited Ocarina of Time remake and a new MercurySteam Metroid. Super Smash Bros. creator Masahiro Sakurai has also been rumoured to be returning for a new instalment in the platform fighting series.

Kiwi Talkz is best known for his in-depth discussions with game industry professionals. Reilly has notable connections with former staff at Metroid Prime developer Retro Studios and is often cited as source of leaks regarding upcoming titles in the Metroid franchise.
