When traversing the Tenebrous Isles, combat and damage can become significantly harder and one of the ways you can adapt to this is by acquiring the Proto Spark trinket. The Proto Spark is a trinket found in the Queensbury Crypt. This trinket allows you to regenerate once after dying and can help you gain significant leverage in late game fights. It is one of the best trinkets in Mina the Hollower. In this guide, we will show you how to obtain it.
Steps to Finding the Proto Spark
The Queensbury Crypt is the area where you will reignite the first Generator after making your way through Mourners Mile and Eastern Heath. Queensbury Crypt can prove challenging so make sure you are prepared.
Start by reaching the lowest floor of the dungeon in order to unlock the side-quest that will enable you to look for the Proto Spark.
There is a large sequence of moving platforms that you must complete on this floor until you reach the next area of the dungeon.
Here, you will spot a room with two Zombies and a breakable green block in the bottom left, break this block and progress to the next room.
In the corner of this room is a purple man named The Duke , to reach him you must sacrifice two health vials in order to break the block that is blocking the platform. The Duke will then engage in a dialogue about his lost love and how he wishes to find her. This starts an escort mission in which you must lead The Duke to the boss arena.
His lost love is the boss that you will fight, she is called The Duchess.
When she is defeated, The Duke will enter the room and mourn the loss of his love. Afterwards, he will want you to fulfil his wish of being buried in a coffin with her and by doing so, you will receive the Proto Spark as a reward.
