Today, we can confirm that the final superstar to be included in WWE 2K16 will be a modern version of wrestling veteran and technical mastermind William Regal, whose appearance has been confirmed via an official wallpaper that can be found on the publisher’s official website. The discovery came about after 2K Games confirmed 125 superstars and divas would appear on the game’s disc, but eagle-eyed users noticed that only 124 names appeared on the most recently published official list, prompting them to scour the wallpaper montage for the missing grappler.
While the Brit’s 1990s WCW persona of Lord Steven Regal had already been official confirmed by 2K, today’s revelation comes as somewhat surprising news. While Regal is still a mainstay on WWE programming as general manager of NXT, he hasn’t had a wrestling role for a number of years now.
WWE 2K16 is scheduled to release on October 27 across current and last-gen consoles.
