A week on from its launch, and PlayStation VR is no longer available from major online retailer Amazon in either the US or the UK.
The company has now completely sold out of both the PSVR launch bundle and core headset; with no estimated restocking date currently available. Amazon’s listings for the virtual reality unit currently refers users to third-party Marketplace sellers, with the cheapest offering being $100 over MSRP.
It is thought the virtual reality headset is being snapped up in great numbers in time for the holiday season; it recently sold out entirely in Australia, and stock shortages have been reported elsewhere.
It’s not all bad news for US consumers, though, with other retailers including Walmart, GameStop and Best Buy all currently listing PSVR as being available to order online.
In the UK, meanwhile, it might be more of a struggle for gamers to get their hands on the system. Leading games retailer GAME currently has no stock available online, and there is limited availability elsewhere.
