Today, Microsoft has unveiled its January Games with Gold lineup.
Starting January 1, players with an active Xbox Live Gold account will be able to download Deathtrap: World of Van Helsing, the tower-defense hybrid game set in a Van-Helsing gothic world on Xbox One. Next, on January 16 Killer Instinct Season 2: Ultra Edition will fight its way to Xbox One players, featuring eight new characters and new stages to keep fighting fresh.
On the Xbox 360 side, subscribers will get two platformers, first with The Cave on January 1, and second with Rayman: Origins on January 16. The Cave is a humorous and challenging platformer, while Rayman: Origins features a unique 2D art style, setting the tone of the game. Of course, all of these games will be playable on Xbox One consoles via backwards compatibility. January’s Games with Gold promises an additional 4675 gamerscore to unlock, as well as $90 worth of games.
It seems as if Microsoft is taking on a cooperative, or at least multiplayer, approach for the first month of the new year with the aforementioned titles. What are your thoughts on the games featured next month?
