Fallout 76 release is around the corner and we are learning new things about the game as we get close to launch. Pete Hines was asked how long Fallout 76 would be supported by Bethesda and he replied by saying “forever”.
He mentioned that you never know how long fans are interested in playing the game. He gave the example of WoW, which is a very old game but is still popular. So devs support and the game and the servers are still up. He said that Fallout 76 would be supported as long as players are putting in the time and are playing the game. The following is what Hines had to say in this regard:
“We will keep going as long as people keep playing it and it shows no sign of slowing down. We don’t know what will happen in the following years. But this is a massive franchise and Bethesda commitment to it is never-ending.”
Bethesda does make some long-lasting games. Skyrim is a perfect example of that. Even years after the game released, modders kept it alive by introducing new content including weapons, items, armor, quests and much more. We know that modders are already excited about Fallout 76 and this should be a big game for the modding community.
Fallout 76 is the next game that Bethesda is bringing to the community and fans are worried that the company might stop making single-player games. This is not the case. Pete Hines and Todd Howard have confirmed that upcoming games like Elder Scrolls VI and Starfield are indeed single-player titles.
It has also been confirmed that Fallout 76 is not Fallout 5 but more of a spin-off. Bethesda is trying to experiment with online multiplayer in an attempt to see how it goes. For more news and information regarding upcoming games, stay tuned.
