Fallout 76 Is Having A Spooky Week

It’s taken a while for things to roll back around, but now we finally have some spooky content coming to Fallout 76 again. The game is pretty good at giving players something themed for the Halloween season, it just feels like it’s taken a little longer than usual for it to get here in 2021. However, Bethesda announced it all just before the weekend, and the community seems to be happy that there’s at least something going on. I quite like how it’s all based on getting players to go out and visit each other, more of a social event than anything else, and something that makes players feel like a part of the wider community.

From today, there will be special Halloween-themed Scorched who are going to be wandering around the wasteland. You can kill them for a treat bag, and inside there could be loads of different Halloween-themed loot. This is just one way that you’ll earn new content in the game though because there’s so much more to come. You can pick up a treat box for your Camp from the Atom Store, it’s free, and then place that out for other players to come and pick candy from.

Daily challenges are going to tasks you with heading out to pick up candy as well as offering it to other players in your world. It’s basically just a big trick or treat event online, something that I’m not sure many other games pull together with their communities. The beauty of Fallout 76 is that players have their own bases to build, and that’s where it becomes possible to have events like this. Without the player bases, there’d be nowhere to go, and players in Fallout 76 love pulling together an inviting base for everyone to see.

I think that this is going to be even more popular in the new Fallout Worlds servers, where players can build with special rules that allow them to build without the usual restrictions. I can’t wait to see what the community does with this event and all the new freedom it’s been given. I think it’ll be really, truly special.
