Assassin’s Creed Valhalla’s Halloween Festival Looks Awesome

This week, the Oskoreia Festival comes to Assassin’s Creed Valhalla. It’s the Halloween event that was delayed earlier in the year due to various internal reasons, most likely because the team needed more time to get it right. this is the last real event in the game that we’re going to get before content starts to be recycled. The first festival in Assassin’s Creed Valhalla was Yule, and that’s not too far away now. Still, while we wait to see if that comes back around, we can sit back and enjoy this incredible Halloween-themed festival that’s coming our way.

This festival seems to be slightly different from the last few. It brings new activities for you to take part in at your settlement, but it’s much more focused. The activities aren’t recycled from older festivals, they’re brand new and provide a decent level of challenge from what I can see. There’s a horseback riding challenge in which you need to shoot targets with your bow and arrow. There’s also a wild hunt, which may form part of the main quest for the festival. It remains to be seen if this is all that there is in the festival.

I love the festivals in Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, but I really do think that players should be able to pick and choose when they’re live. The festival space feels so empty, and having a festival going on at all times of year would feel magical. It’s nice to have something new to play through while we wait for Dawn of Ragnarok though, event if everything in this festival is only temporary. Time limited gear and loot are right up my alley though, and I will play almost any game and do whatever it requires of me to ensure I get my hands on that loot.

My hope is that Ubisoft has evolved the festivals that will come over the course of year 2 for Assassin’s Creed Valhalla. Having the same festivals is fine, but let’s have an upgrade or a change that makes them feel new for the returning players. There’s nothing worse than straight up recycled content.
