Combining Wordle with classic Wheel of Fortune-esque gameplay, Phrazle is the latest in a long line of popular daily guessing games. Each morning and evening, users are tasked with solving the phrase of the day. It’s easier said that done, of course, especially when you only have six attempts to provide the solution! Read on if you’re struggling to piece together the Phrazle answer for today.
Phrazle’s gameplay will be familiar to those who have already played Wordle or one of its endless spinoff puzzles – although it has a slight twist.
After each guess, players receive hints at how close they came to guessing the correct phrase. Letters in the correct spot and word are coloured green, while those that are in the correct word but wrong spot are coloured yellow. As you would expect, those letters that are not in the phrase at all are coloured grey. What is unique to Phrazle is the use of purple colour coding for letters that are in the phrase, but not in the current word. For example, if the answer is ‘Jump the Gun’:
SHOOT THE COW
HUMP THE GUN
JUMP THE GUN
If you’re struggling to figure out the answer but don’t want to give up just yet, it’s worth considering the following strategy:
- E, A, T, N, R, S are amongst the most common letters in the English language and have a high probability of appearing.
- Words such as ‘an’, ‘on’, ‘the’, ‘and’ and ‘that’ are both common themselves and contain a good mix of common vowels and consonants.
Still not cracked it? Don’t worry, today’s Phrazle answer can be found below:

Although Phrazle may on the surface appear to be much trickier than the likes of Wordle or Quordle, remember to use the hints we’ve outlined above – especially if you’re struggling to think of a word that fits the correct number of letters (each guess must contain only valid words) – and you’ll soon get the hang of it!
