SS-Tier

- Antandra, Arden, Carolina, Cecia, Dionel, Eironn, Florabelle, Koko, Lily May, Odie, Phraesto, Reinier, Scarlita, Shakir, Smokey & Meerky, Thoran, Ulmus, and Vala.
S-Tier
The heroes of AFK Journey in S Tier are still incredibly useful to players and great picks. They only later as being lesser than those in the higher group. If you encounter these characters while playing, they are still great options to choose from.
- Berial, Damian, Granny Dahnie, Hewynn, Igor, Lucius, Rowan, Seth, Talene, and Temesia.
A-Tier
A Tier characters are strong options. However, they do have the same benefits or strengths in some areas of the game such as PvP or the endgame. While they are not weak, they can do with some buffs to make them on par with stronger heroes.

Arden
- Hero Class: Mage

Arden is a good option because of his multi-faceted skills and ultimate. Players can summon lighting AOEs with his Force of Nature ultimate to cover more ground and hit more foes. Meanwhile, his Gift of Nature skill allows him to regain 12 energy when a non-summon enemy is controlled. If players utilize this ability especially, it provides a support-like feature to the character. Allowing for more attacks in battle and to gain your ultimate faster.
Carolina

Carolina is all about dealing with frost damage, which can be incredibly powerful. Her Enhance Force when used with her Snowball Witchery skill inflicts further Frostbite damage. Moreover, the Snowball Witchery deals extra damage as they are snowballs that she shoots. Players can also freeze enemies with her ultimate, which is only further useful as a second AOE is enacted which deals Frostbite damage to any enemy in a 2-tile radius. Therefore, for players looking to dive into a great elemental character, Carolina is a fantastic option.
Lily May

Lily May, while a new character to AFK Journey, is also a top-tier choice for players to make. Her Rainstorm Bullet skill allows her to deal great damage while Invincible. Therefore saving her from damage while also dealing it to her foe. Additionally, her Tempest Shot helps to counter an enemy’s ultimate ability. Upon the action beginning, Lily May takes Unaffected as a stat buff, taking no damage; in turn, she retaliates by shooting her bow and doing over 200% damage. Players looking to deal heavy damage to an enemy should prioritize selecting this character.
Reinier
- Hero Class: Support
- Hero Faction: Hypogean
Reinier is a good choice for players looking for more of a support-specific character. The Dynamic Balance skill helps to recover an ally’s health when they are swapped with an enemy hero in an adjacent position. When the enemy takes damage, the swapped hero earns health back. Therefore, helping to keep survivability up for the player’s roster and keep the balance of the fight in your favor. The Golden Ratio skill is really useful for taking down the strongest, healthy hero on the opponent’s side. Using this ability is perfect to help bring the enemy team down a peg and put them on their weaker foot, as they will no longer have a backup character that is fully healthy.
Smokey & Meerky

The duo are focused on creating aroma which is an AOE and the ultimate for the characters. Once this aroma is created, many of the abilities become incredibly useful. By casting the Quick Recovery skill, players can heal any allies in the aroma for 90% of their damage in an attack. Furthermore, players can use the duo to buff the ATK stat of allies in the aroma. By doing this, players can not only heal team members but also allow them to do more damage. This combination is big in making the best support option and one of the best heroes to pick in the game.
Vala

Vala’s Swift Shot is nothing to mess with, dealing a massive amount of damage to a single target and stunning them in the process. Overall, she prioritizes fighting enemies one-on-one, rather than AOE-type attacks. However, this is nothing to trifle with. Aside, from Swift Shot, players can use skills like Notice Beforehand, to mark an enemy and when the battle starts, attack them and receive 90 Energy. Also, her EX. Skill, Night Manuever, allows her to become invisible to enemy attacks once she defeats a marked enemy. Vala is only vulnerable to attacks when all other allies are defeated. She provides the means to be a very powerful backup if the rest of your team is downed. As a single-damage dealer, Vala is a recommended choice.
