Once Human became one of the most played MMOs since it initially launched in 2024. It’s weird, genre-filled, and does a great job at making it an online experience truly unlike any other you’ve ever discovered. Now, the fun is heading to mobile, but not without a few caveats. You see, cross-progression with mobile devices is scheduled to start on April 23. However, there’s a bit of a catch depending on which version of the game you decide to start your account with.
If you’re playing the PC version already, whether it be on Loading Bay, Steam, or Epic Games, then you’ll be able to play on Google Play and iOS without issue. However, if you’re starting out on mobile, the cross-progression will only work for those playing on the Loading Bay. That’s incredibly interesting, and I can only assume that many players checking out Once Human on mobile for the first time might want to play on PC one day. It will be quite the surprise if they are looking to play on Steam or Epic Games.
Alongside this new announcement, there will also be a major cosmetics overhaul for the game, including new idle animations, standing actions, and effects from their fashion sets. Get ready to mix and match all your animations! Personally, the most exciting part of the update are the new hidden features brought on by cross-platform integration. Cosmetics will be able to be shared on the same account, furniture and materials can be shared with friends, and vehicles are more advanced than ever before with jumping and drifting action.
Veteran players have not been forgotten, as new, high-difficult challenges will also be made available to earn exclusive trophies and achievements. Realistically, this might be the update that genuinely brings me back to the game. The apocalypse suddenly looks really cute.
