REPO: First Major Update Details & How to Access

REPO Semibots

R.E.P.O., the robots-collecting-trinkets horror game from developer Semiwork Studios, became something of a surprise hit when it was released into early access in February 2025. It’s managed a steady 100,000+ player count ever since, and players can’t get enough of those adorable little Semibots.

On May 2, 2025, the first major update for R.E.P.O. was released, adding a ton of new content for players to enjoy. However, there’s a small catch that players should bear in mind if they want to dive in. Here’s everything that’s included in the first major update, and how to access it.

Everything added in REPO’s first major update

    • Boltzap
    • Prodzap
    • Duck Bucket

Full details for this update, and all of the minor updates and fixes, can be found through the Beta Announcements channel of the R.E.P.O. Discord server.

How to access the REPO Beta

Technically, this update isn’t fully released yet, but anybody with R.E.P.O. currently in their library on Steam can access it by following these steps:

  1. In the library, right-click on R.E.P.O. and select ‘Properties…’
  2. In the pop-up window, select “Betas”
  3. Click the drop-down menu next to Beta Participation and change that from “None” to “Beta”

Once you’ve done that, your game will update, and you’ll have full access to the new update and everything it has to offer.

Semiwork has asked that players keep an eye out for bugs or offer up any other feedback through the Beta channels of the official R.E.P.O. Discord server. Once testing is finished and the additions have been finalized, the update will be released for everyone, Beta or not.
