Neferata

Neferata is the free Legendary Lord in Total War Warhammer 3: Lords of the End Times, who leads the Lahmian Sisterhood army of the Vampire Counts at the Silver Pinnacle on the Blasted Wastes. This guide will provide you with tips and tricks on how to complete the Neferata campaign in the game.

Best Strategies for the Neferata Campaign

Neferata Campaign

Neferata is mainly focused on hero networks and manipulation rather than pure frontline conquest, while still maintaining a major Vampire Counts rework with Corpses, Blood, Vampire Lairs and Bloodlines, as primary recruitment.

MechanicsStrategies
Faction EffectsShe has a high hero action success chance of 20% and reduced upkeep for Lahmian Handmaiden units, with access to some of the Tomb Kings units after reclaiming Lahmia.

Note that her Vampirism technologies are unlocked without any conditions, but Necromancy techs do have conditions.

Lord EffectsUse her Bastet ability for melee defence debuff hex, with -50% enemy hero action success chance in own territory.

She also has +10 leadership and +10 melee defence for embedded Lahmian Heroes.

Items & MountsUnique items: Aken-seth (Staff of Pain), Akmet-kar (Dagger of Jet), and Ruby of Lahmia.

Mounts include Barded Nightmare, Hellsteed, Coven Throne, Dread Abyssal, and Zombie Dragon.

New UnitsYou can use Lahmian Handmaidens and armies of the anti-infantry undead.

Her Lahmian Vampire Heroes can use Seduction and Transfix, and after Lahmia, you gain access to limited Tomb Guard, Ushabti, etc.

Vampire CountsRaise Dead is the primary recruitment method and most units have their capacity limited by military buildings.

Use Corpses for lower-tier units; Blood converted from Corpses for higher-tier units.

Handmaiden HeroesSummon and recruit them via her tech tree, and start with unlocking the Imentet the First.

Their main job is establishing Vampire Covens in foreign provincial capitals for settlements you do not own.

Vampire CovensThey generate the Manipulation resource and have a Concealment value.

You can manage Concealment via buildings, but aggressive actions reduce their impact.

ManipulationSpend it on Web of Power actions to target armies, settlements, or enemy factions.

You can use it to steal gold, assassinate, force wars, convert climate to Undead Wasteland, etc.

Best Army Composition & Battle Tips

Neferata units

When building an army for Neferata with a Coven Throne, focus on your strong starting force and cheap Raise Dead chaff, while building Corpses income and your first military buildings. Here are the top units for her campaign:

RolesUnits
Heroes1–2 Lahmian Vampire Heroes and Necromancer or Wight King.
Frontline3–4 Skeleton Warriors and 1–2 Spirit Hosts.
Infantry4–6 Lahmian Handmaidens and 2–3 Grave Guard.
Cavalry2 Black Knights or Blood Knights.
Monsters1–2 Vargheists, Crypt Horrors, or a Terrorgheist.

Since you start at Silver Pinnacle, your nearby threats include Greenskins, Chaos Dwarfs, Skaven, and other mountain factions. Focus on the following playstyle:

  1. Fight the initial enemy army and use your spells, Bastet, and Handmaiden bound spells.
  2. Secure the home province and build your economy using Haunted Gem Mine.
  3. Research into the Vampirism tree and unlock more Handmaidens.
  4. Summon your first Handmaiden and plant early Covens.
  5. Maintain good diplomacy with Astragoth if possible while expanding southward against Greenskins.
  6. The Zharr-Naggrund area can be your next step if you can handle Chaos Dwarfs.
  7. Reclaim Lahmia far south in Nehekhara for the Temple of Blood landmark, limited Tomb Kings units, and Mountain and Desert attrition immunity.
