Fans Aren’t Happy About The Lack Of Watch Dogs: Legion Content

Watch Dogs: Legion

Watch Dogs: Legion is a game that Ubisoft seems to have forgotten about. It launched and had some post-launch content, as was outlined when it came out, but it’s not had anything like the attention that Assassin’s Creed Valhalla has. This is almost certainly because the fan base is greatly weighted to the Assassin’s Creed side. However, there’s definitely a group of fans who are dedicated to Watch Dogs and want to see more content in Legion. With Watch Dogs: Legion Online, there’s a platform that Ubisoft could be growing and advancing over time, but it’s not. Instead, this seems to have been left for almost dead, and fans are starting to kick off a little.

When the one-year anniversary of Watch Dogs: Legion came around, Ubisoft posted about it on Twitter. That’s it. The company didn’t discuss the game’s development, or give fans anything new to play in terms of content. Season 4 of Watch Dogs: Legion Online started around the same time, but it’s just got older content mixed in with some of the new stuff that has been added. Honestly, it doesn’t actually look like much effort is going into this game, and that’s a huge shame.

It’s weird, because this is the game that none other than Stormzy did a music video in. It had so much promotion and hype around it, and then it was just left for dead. Sure, it’s had a couple of new modes added over time, but it’s really not been pushing the boundaries like Assassin’s Creed Valhalla has. We’ve had confirmation that Valhalla is getting another year of support, but as far as Watch Dogs is concerned, Legion may as well be the last entry in the franchise.

I find this so disheartening. I still believe that Watch Dogs is a great series, one that Ubisoft should be putting more effort into. With shows like Mr Robot doing so much for the tech thriller genre, now seems like the perfect time to be bringing more of that sort of content to the forefront. Instead, we’re just left with this game that feels like a wasteland in desperate need of an oasis.
