All Super Robot Wars Y Secrets

Super Robot Wars Y official artwork

There are many secret mecha appearances, attacks, and abilities that you can unlock in Super Robot Wars Y. Note that some secrets require you to complete specific side quests, while others you must intentionally fail to complete. In either case, this guide will provide you with all the secrets in the base game, including tips on how to unlock them.

Mecha Appearances

In order to get this early secret, you must finish the “Aliens Adrift” mission (Chapter 2: Stage 2). In this mission, Show and Daba need to get a total score of over 50. After that, you’ll need to finish the “Aura Ladies” side mission (Chapter 2: Stage 8). But note that you cannot access the “Aura Ladies” mission after completing the main mission “The New World Oath” (Chapter 3: Stage 6), so do it beforehand. If you did everything right, then the following mechas will appear early on:

  • Billbine
  • Gran Garan
  • Novel
  • Marvel
  • Nie
  • Keen

Leccee’s Hair and Outfits

Here, you must achieve a combined score of over 50 while completing main mission “Aliens Adrift” (Chapter 2: Stage 2). Then, complete side mission “Aura Ladies” (Chapter 2: Stage 8), and recognize that during the mission, you make a dialogue choice about Leccee’s appearance.

Choose the “No way Leccee should change” option if you want Leccee to wear purple clothing and have short hair. Choose “I can see Leccee’s new look” if you want Leccee to wear blue clothing and have long hair. Even when completing main mission “The New World Oath” (Chapter 3: Stage 6), Leccee will still have her long hair and a blue outfit.

Sirbine Appearance

If you want to see Sirbine earlier than usual, then finish main mission “Aliens Adrift” (Chapter 2: Stage 2). Here, Show and Daba also need to have a combined score of 50 or more. Then, finish side mission “Aura Ladies” (Chapter 2: Stage 8) and side mission “Byston Well, Eternal” (Chapter 2: Stage 12).

L-Gaim Mk-II Appearance

For an early L-Gaim Mk-II appearance, finish main mission “Returned from the Abyss” (Chapter 2: Stage 5). Then, finish side mission “Aura Ladies” (Chapter 2: Stage 8). Note that you need to have completed the early Billbine, Gran Garan, and other characters secret for this. Also, Daba needs to have a score of 55 or more. Lastly, finish side mission “Double Heart,” which becomes unavailable once you finish main mission “The New World Oath” (Chapter 3: Stage 6).

More Units

Complete the second chapter, “Majestic Prince, Sortie.” To do this, Izuru, Asagi, Kei, Tamaki, and Suruga must all score 85. Then, finish side mission “The Despondence of the Sixth” (Chapter 2: Stage 11), which becomes unavailable as soon as you finish main mission “The New World Oath.” Once this is done, the following units will appear earlier:

  • Black 6
  • Rhinos
  • Godinion
  • Reika

Unlock Secret Stage

If you wish to unlock “How to be a Hero,” then don’t finish “A Reason to Fight.” Instead, finish Chapter 2’s “Majestic Prince, Sortie” stage. Note that “A Reason to Fight” will be inaccessible for the rest of the playthrough after “To Be a Hero” is unlocked.

Nu Gundam & Zeta Gundam

Finalize the “Aliens Adrift” main mission (Chapter 2: Stage 2). Also, “The Bell of Londenion” and “Char and Amuro,” or “The Gaze of the Red Comet” and “The Light The White Meteor Saw,” are the side missions that you must finish in Chapter 2. Achieve a combined score of 90+ between Kamille and Amuro. Finish the “Beyond Time, Beyond Space” side objective.

No matter the score, “Beyond Time, Beyond Space” will undoubtedly unlock after finishing “The New World Oath” (Chapter 3: Stage 6). But after completing the primary objectives “???” (Chapter 4: Stage 5A) or “A NINJA’s Rebellion” (Chapter 4: Stage 5B), “Beyond Time, Beyond Space” will be inaccessible.

Destiny Gundam & Lunamaria

For these two unlocks, you need to finish the “Cursed Mobile Suits” main quest (Chapter 2: Stage 4). Shinn must have scored more than fifty points by this stage. Lastly, finish the “Who Determines Destiny” side quest (Chapter 2: Stage 15).

Gundam Sandrock Custom

If you want to customize Gundam Sandrock, then finish the “Cursed Mobile Suits” main quest (Chapter 2: Stage 4). After that, finish the “Justice and Friendship” side quest. Once primary mission “Returned from the Abyss” is completed (Chapter 2: Stage 5), “Justice and Friendship” will no longer be available.

Improved Mechas

You can strengthen several mechas if you finish the primary mission “Cursed Mobile Suits” (Chapter 2: Stage 4) and the “Justice and Friendship” side quest. Heero must score more than 55 points.

After that, finish “Those Who Know Pain” side objective and primary mission “The New World Oath,” which unlocks “Those Who Know Pain” immediately, even if Heero’s score is less than 55 or “Justice and Friendship” is not finished. If “Those Who Know Pain” is not finished, all five Gundams will be strengthened during Chapter 5: Stage 5, such as:

  • Gundam Zero
  • Gundam Deathscythe Hell
  • Gundam Heavyarms Custom
  • Gundam Sandrock Custom
  • Altron Gundam

Secret Attacks

You can unlock two secret attacks: God Voice and Grandasher. For this, you’ll need to finish “The Singer from the Galaxy” (Chapter 2: Stage 6). Together, Akira and Hyoma need to score more than 100 points. Then, finish the “The Bird Sings of Destruction” side quest. Regardless of score, “The New World Oath” unlocks “The Bird Sings of Destruction” once it’s been completed. Once you fail to finish “The Bird Sings of Destruction,” this will result in the addition of secret attacks during Chapter 5: Stage 4.

More Mechas

Finish “The Bell of Londenion” and “Char and Amuro” or “The Gaze of the Red Comet” and “The Light The White Meteor Saw” side quests in Chapter 2. Then, finish the “The Herald of the Red Comet” or “The Charge of the Red Comet” side quests in Chapter 3 to unlock Tallgeese III, Taurus, and Strike Freedom.

Sazabi & Char

In order to unlock Sazabi and Char, finish the “The Bell of Londenion” and “Char and Amuro” or “The Gaze of the Red Comet” and “The Light The White Meteor Saw” side quests in Chapter 2. Completing “The Hand Guiding the Future” in Chapter 2 is crucial. Amuro requires a score of 40 or above.

Then, finish the “The Charge of the Red Comet” side mission. When the requirements are accomplished, “The Herald of the Red Comet” is replaced with this stage. Strike Freedom, Taurus, and Tallgeese III join both side missions.

New Abilities

There are several new G Gundam abilities and attacks that you can unlock if you finish “Their Choice, and Hers” (Chapter 3: Stage 4). Then, finish the “Dark Vengeance” and “Surpass the Master and Oneself” side quests. Once those are done, all new attacks and abilities will be unlocked in Chapter 5: Stage 3.

Guel Jeturk

If you manage to win all duels with Suletta, he’ll join you during “The Witch’s Wishes” (Chapter 4: Stage 3).
