PlayStation Plus Lineup for January Revealed

With each new month comes more goodies for Playstation Plus subscribers, and this month has an impressive array. On Wednesday, Sony’s senior community specialist, Kristine Steimer, unveiled the free games fans can expect for all three PlayStation platforms for the month of January.

First off, on the PS4, is a bit of DLC. Sucker Punch’s Infamous: First Light is a standalone add-on to Infamous: Second Son, released earlier in 2014, and lets you play out the story of Fetch in beautiful Seattle. PS4, PS3, and Vita owners will also be receiving Curve Studio’s The Swapper, which we reviewed upon its original release in August. This award-winning puzzle game takes you into deep space and through cloning mechanics weaves a rich narrative-driven experience.

For the PS3, Plus subscribers will be getting the open-world action game Prototype 2, in which players use shape-shifting to tear their way through New York Zero. PS3 owners will also be getting DuckTales Remastered, a beautiful return to the 8-bit platforming classic featuring Scrooge McDuck and the gang.

For those who have a Vita or a PS3, you can also expect to be receiving Duke Nukem 3D: Megaton Edition. This compilation of the best of Duke Nukem offers players an enhanced version of Duke Nukem 3D, three expansions, and the original version of the game.

Vita owners, as well as PS4 owners (sometime soon), will be getting BIT.TRIP’s Whoa Dave! In this high-scoring 2D platformer, players must help Dave Lonuts amass a fortune in the midst of an alien invasio.

All of these games will be available for Playstation Plus subscribers on January 6. Do any of these games have you excited? Let us know what you think in the comments below!
