PSN users who have already pre-ordered and pre-loaded Grim Fandango Remastered may have to re-download the game in order to play it when it launches later today, according to an official Sony forum post.
Clocking in at 4.5GB, the issue is a minor nuisance for fans eager to get their hands on Double Fine’s remake of LucasArts’ classic adventure game. Sony’s workaround for the potential issue is as follows:
- Return to the PS4 store and purchase the free version of the game (this SKU will only be visible to pre-order users at around 9pm PST.) Purchase the SKU only, do not re-download at this point.
- Restore PS4 licenses. [Settings] > [PSN] > [Restore License]. If this doesn’t solve the issue continue to step 3.
- Go to Library, highlight Grim Fandango and press Options.
- Delete Game Content.
- While still in the Library highlight Grim Fandango and press X to re-download the content.
- Restore licenses again.
Original director Tim Schafer has returned to helm the remaster’s production, which features vastly improved graphics and controls, as well as a full orchestral score. It is due out later today on PC, PS4 and PS Vita.
