Star Wars Actor Alan Tudyk Discusses His Departure from Uncharted 4

Alan Tudyk (Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, Firefly) revealed that he walked away from Uncharted 4 after Amy Hennig left the game’s development. During an interview with IGN concerning his upcoming series Con Man, Tudyk indicated that he vacated his role because the studio had decided to go in another direction once Neil Druckmann and Bruce Straley replaced Hennig on the project.

An interesting snippet from the interview involves a relatively ambiguous statement from Tudyk as to whether or not he was let go or left voluntarily. Tudyk states, “I worked on Uncharted… they… ummm… they fired… ummm… I left, I quit! So, I didn’t like it.” Tudyk further indicated some indifference toward Naughty Dog by stating, “I got the experience of doing it, I made some friends – not with Naughty Dog – but I made some friends with the people that left.”

Although it is unknown whether or not the transition of Uncharted 4 into new hands was difficult or smooth for those involved, Tudyk’s comments certainly make it seem as though not everything was kosher concerning the change.

Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End arrives on PS4 March 18, 2016.
