What can we expect from the Doom closed alpha? Well, Bethesda confirmed the alpha will offer one mode: a standard 6v6 team deathmatch, which will take place on one map, the industrial-themed Heatwave. Doom’s closed alpha will also allow players to test out a range of weapons that include the Vortex Rifle, Super Shotgun, Repeater, Rocket Launcher, Static Cannon, Plasma Rifle, Frag Grenades and Personal Teleporters, as well as the Power Weapon Gauss Cannon.
Bethesda has also announced there will be a Doom beta test – with the same eligibility requirements – but no details on that program have been shared as of yet.
Prepare for chaos, carnage and a whole lot of nostalgia when the closed alpha kicks off this weekend at 12:01am ET on October 23.
