Tonight at The Game Awards, Psychonauts 2 was announced through a new teaser trailer. Tim Schafer, Double Fine’s Creative Director, then took to the stage to state that the game is being funded through the new crowd-funding platform FIG. The team are looking for $3.3 million in order to hit a 2018 release.
In an interview with IGN, Schafer stated, ” “We’re in early pre-production, I’ve got my document with a backlog of ideas, backstory, and the extended story for Psychonauts that’s always been an idea in a sequel. We’ve had an art jam and figured out locations, but it’s still in the early design phase.”
