Two very not-Pokémon games are honoring everybody’s favorite collectible monsters with Pokémon-themed events to celebrate the franchise’s 20th anniversary. Super Mario Maker has added the I Choose You! event course, which allows players to collect Bulbasaur, Charmander, and Squirtle costumes for the Mystery Mushroom. The stage must be completed once for each costume, for a total of three times.
Splatoon is hosting the first-ever worldwide Splatfest for all regions simultaneously to determine which of the original games is the best there ever was. The only difference is that regions outside Japan will choose between Red and Blue, while the Japanese will be presented with Red and Green as their choices. FYI, Callie is team Red and Marie is team Blue/Green. Gotta splat ’em all!

In addition to these Wii U Pokémon events, the original Pokémon Red, Blue, and Yellow games will be released for the 3DS Virtual Console on February 27. Which of the three classic Pokémon games will you be picking up?
