Capcom has today confirmed that its Resident Evil 7: Biohazard ‘Kitchen’ demo is available today alongside the release of PlayStation VR. The VR teaser comes included on a disc as part of the PS VR headset package in North America, while users in Europe can download it for free via the PlayStation store.
According to the publisher, ‘Kitchen’, which started life as a Project Morpheus (PS VR’s early codename) tech demo, features a “quick and intense glimpse of the immersive horror experience” players can expect from Resident Evil 7: Biohazard when it releases early next year. In the demo, a disturbing kitchen provides the unsettling backdrop for a tense scenario that promises to draw players into a “hyper-realistic virtual world like never before”.
Resident Evil 7: Biohazard is scheduled to release on January 24, 2017, and will be fully playable in VR, with players being able to swap between virtual reality and regular gameplay at will.
