After days of speculation and cryptic teasers, Rockstar Games has officially announced the long awaited Red Dead Redemption 2 for Xbox One and PS4.
In a press release issued earlier today, the developer confirmed that the long-awaited sequel to its hit 2010 Western would release in Autumn 2017, with fans being able to get their first glimpse at the game in a trailer due for release this Thursday (October 20) at 11AM EST.
The two images released by Rockstar this week have stirred up plenty of speculation on the topic of a new Red Dead game, with theories and photo editing leading the way. Now, with the official announcement, the hype behind it is already growing fast, with social media abuzz with activity throughout the day.
Sam Houser, founder of Rockstar Games, said: “With Red Dead Redemption 2, the team is working hard to push forward our vision for interactive entertainment in a truly living world. We hope to deliver players an epic experience that builds upon everything we’ve learned making games.”
